Youtube linky for those without embedding. This is one of those records that changes my mood every single time I hear it, regardless.

I do so sincerely hope that Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt were in some way involved in this Sugar Puffs advert. If not, someone needs suing.
For your delectation and reference - The One And Only Four Way Crimp.
This record has been living in my head for the last few weeks. You have to hear it, and you must love it

It’s really worth seeking out the entire album - what the youtube above doesn’t get across is the pure, sparse, funkiness that the guitar and bass produce. The basslines are truly awesome.
…and listen to death from above.
Clearly a band called CSS is going to get at a few plays in our office. That and being used in the best scene of the Phoo Action pilot means I can’t get that nagging riff out of my head. Also, same track, live on Later.
I love youtube; particularly as a music discovery service. I don’t think I’ve talked about this enough here so here’s the first in (hopefully) a more concerted effort to post music videos to this blog.
This is the track I was looking for when I first discovered exactly how good youtube is for music. It wasn’t there at the time, it was the other things I found that made me realise. Thankfully someone has posted it since and for your delectation here is one of the highlights of Talking Heads career done by David Byrne plus small orchestra on Later a few years ago. This must be the place (naïve melody).
OK. I’m a fanboy. Yes yes, forgive me. LCD Soundsystem. I love them. Signed to DFA. Hot Chip. Apparently I love them too. Also signed to DFA. More ear worm infectious pop than edgy dance, but still; the sight of 5 geeks jerking uncontrollably in time to their own emissions on Later (that last link only lasts until 22nd Feb 2008, this one doesn’t, nor does this one for the really stand out track) was really something to behold. EMI have finally got an artist of a) quality and b) mass appeal. They may have got them through a licensing deal rather than their own A&R, but hey, Terra Firma may be saved from bankruptcy yet.
Has Apple considered the effect the ultra thin MacBookAir will have on other laptops?
And (sorry for utterly geeking out here, but) an 8080 plays Portal’s Still Alive:
