The real stars and stripes

Hadn’t been to adbusters for a while. Nice to see that they’re still going, and still producing really nice stuff. Does this count as treason?

Chris Morris does 911

Posted at 4:20am on Monday, September 23rd, 2002

I know this is very old, but if you haven’t seen it before, go have a look at the Smoke Hammer, Chris Morris’ parody of cnn.com during the aftermath of 9/11 (or in English, 11/9 thanks). Being reminded of this got me to thinking of other Morrisean things, and in so doing found an excellent (if rather obsessive) fan site at Cook’d and Bomb’d.

American airports plan to probe minds

Posted at 4:20am on Tuesday, September 17th, 2002

Found this story on the Washington Post web site.

Deeply scary – apparently NASA is close to building “noninvasive neuro-electric sensors” that compare brain waves and heart patterns with “known data” to assess whether or not you are likely to be a terrorist as you board a plane… Suddenly the AFDB (Aluminium Foil Deflector Beanie) doesn’t seem like such a daft idea!
