What a day. I can’t say much, being one of the many people who consigned Northern Hemisphere rugby to certain failure this World Cup. But oh my God, I’ve never been happier to be so so wrong. France beat the All Blacks and England beat Australia in two thrilling matches. Suddenly the World Cup has come alive.
Lucky I didn’t put too much of my money where my mouth is! Last gasp try from France stuns Ireland. I was convinced that Ireland would do it this year, but after such a stunning match it’s hard to complain about either side being victorious. At least not all Northern European rugby is moribund.
This is truly bizarre…
