…because it may endanger tax breaks the corporation receives from the State of Florida (governed by Jeb Bush). Read the full story at michaelmoore.com.
If you haven’t heard of The Yes Men before you should probably go and have a read… (My particular favourite is the unveiling of the Employee Visualization Appendage). A press release describing their latest activity arrived this morning - getting a standing ovation for suggesting that Bush’s invasion of Iraq is in fact history’s biggest illegal trade subsidy… Nice. How easy it is when you put your mind to it.
I’m afraid I may start to get boring about this, but bear with me… If you’re a UK citizen this directly affects you… [Thanks Doug for this one:]
Anyone following the Electronic voting farce in the US will doubtless be overjoyed to hear that Diebold may be prosecuted by the state of California….

Chimpeach (chim pch), v., 1. To eliminate an enemy or malefactor, or to rectify a near fatal error or terrible mistake.
2. To remove from high office, through judicial review or public referendum, a dangerous imbecile, odious fraud, or chimpanzee.
3. To reclaim the soul of one’s country by reversing or redressing a grievous historical injustice, as in “After Whitewater, Bush’s lies about Iraq give us no choice but to chimpeach the murdering bastard, unless we want the whole goddam world to think that the lives of our sons and daughters are less significant than lying about a blowjob.”

Speaking cynically, the idea that MPs’ email (regardless of their persuasion) may be being monitored is no great surprise… What is interesting is that recently the Government’s use of intelligence gathering has become a matter of public record and inquiry, something that has previously been politely agreed to be beyond investigation. Clearly apparent mistakes like the suspension of the consul for a leak before the leak has leaked don’t help the cause.
