Best selling album of the year fails to ship 4 million copies. Not a great surprise, but it is a rapid and consistent decline. Am I the only one that thinks that downloads don’t replace the physical product?
The freaks are coming to town:
Yet another farcical American patent. This time it’s Microsoft attempting to patent RSS feeds and readers. Because of course, that was a Microsoft invention, wasn’t it?
Sam Sethi and Mike Butcher (ex of TechCrunch UK) are blogging again, over at Sam’s old blog http://www.vecosys.com/.
Mike Butcher’s point of view. Decent and reasoned. I do hope he can take TCUK’s readership with him elsewhere…
While this story is itself very very disturbing (Ukraine babies in stem cell probe) what worries me more is that it will no doubt play into the tabloid/neocon hands:
I can just see the argument: “look how evil it is, we must stop all stem cell research”, rather than “look what our prohibition is creating”.
- War on Drugs
- War on Terror
- and finally, the one they’ve all be moving towards, War on Science
It’s a dead horse. Stop flogging it. Blood a few new players, play for pride and get the hell out of Dodge. That’s my advice anyway. Of course, Duncan Fletcher has his own view:
The best train line in the country (and the only one I have to use regularly) is stuffed and probably will end up run by the farcical Virgin Rail.
He also saves dolphins with his bare hands…
