Sad days
Posted at 10:54pm on Friday, August 4th, 2006Arthur Lee died yesterday from Leukemia. Forever Changes still hits my stereo most weeks. The outtakes from “Your Mind and We Belong Together” on the 2000 reissue are simultaneously both blistering psychedelic rock and ludicrously funny. I’m truly saddened. I genuinely love Love. It is a sad day.
Only last month there was a series of concerts called “For The Love of Arthur”, intended to raise money to aid his recovery (he was without medical insurance when diagnosed with the disease). God bless the power of YouTube yet again, for hosting a whole host of key moments from the gigs.
