Awesome. And a damn sight more interesting than Crouch’s robotic dance (performed or otherwise).

Synergy

Posted at 6:03pm on Thursday, June 15th, 2006

I’m rarely really really impressed with a piece of software, but I’ve just installed synergy and it is absolutely awesome. Anyone running two desktops consistently (like I do) needs this software.

In the picture below my mouse now moves in a completely straight line across all 3 monitors – the left most of which is a Debian Sarge box, whilst middle and right are a Windows box. Not only that, but it shares the clipboard as well.

I am so happy I could cry. Anyone want to buy a 2 port KVM? I don’t need mine any more.

Kids. God love ‘em

Posted at 2:56pm on Monday, June 12th, 2006

A noise designed to drive kids out of shopping malls has been re-engineered as a ringtone which parents and teachers cannot hear. [...] British kids were quick to sample the sound and turn it into a ringtone to be used in class – they can hear it, but teachers can’t.

The inability to move the pin on google maps was really doing my head in. Apparently I wasn’t the only one…. Pin The Map. Still a little lacking in UI, but very nice nevertheless…

Arsene Wenger and Arsenal look like they really have their work cut out to explain away this one.

Pirate bay sunk

Posted at 11:51am on Thursday, June 1st, 2006

At least temporarily

Swedish police raided 10 different locations in Sweden and seized servers in a massive crackdown on torrent site Piratebay.org today. [...] Judging from posts on several of the large Swedish newspaper forums, many people are outraged over the raid, not because the Piratebay was closed down, but because of the waste of taxpayers money and police time, when there are other more important crimes to solve.

Chavs bring down the garden of England

Posted at 11:42am on Thursday, June 1st, 2006

Obviously living in Yorkshire and coming from Gloucestershire I’m very pleased to hear that they both top Kent in a national poll of beautiful counties for the first time. The fact that my wife is from Kent has nothing to do with it, of course…
