Close, but no cigar
Posted at 8:38am on Sunday, May 7th, 2006 by AndyWell. That was some of the most exciting running rugby I’ve ever seen. Shame we lost. Shame Ryan saw fit to substitute the most exciting players of the match for the last 10 minutes too. I have a feeling we would have lost anyway, but still… Part of me thinks the only chance was to leave the yonugsters on – the substitutions were essentially admitting defeat.
Apart from the ECC final in a couple of weeks that’s the end of my rugby for the season. Hum. Looks like we’ll have made it back into the European top flight and might have a little silverware to show for it as well, though, so no complaints. With the side that we’ve got building if the contracts for the youngsters can all be sorted out it looks like 2006/7 will be a good year for the Cherry and Whites.
