Trapping blog spam in something entirely intended to publish free text on the Internet is obviously impossible. I had thought that entirely custom code would stop it being identifiable as possible and stop it happening, but no, apparently not. It’s fixed now though, through cunning use of regular expressions and contextual pattern matching. I never thought I’d have to put that much work into something so simple. Yet another reason to really hate spammers.
