This is so unfair

Posted at 9:55pm on Wednesday, January 19th, 2005

Researchers from Cardiff University reckon that 24th January is the most depressing day of the year. That’s Claire’s birthday. Every year (unsurprisingly). How harsh is that?< ?p>

What a win

Posted at 12:31pm on Tuesday, January 18th, 2005

They started the day with the bookies offering 12-1 against them winning, but between Trescothick and particularly Hoggard they absolutely smashed South Africa. English cricket is definitely still going strong. News of the injuries to the front line bowlers may be worrying, but with Gloucester favourite John Lewis being called up there’s every chance that we’ll keep taking wickets. If he can bowl anything like he can for Gloucestershire (like 3 wickets in the first 3 overs of the 2004 C&G final) then the bowling line up still looks very strong. If Harmison can find his line and length for the last match we’ll be sorted.

Posted at 8:47am on Tuesday, January 18th, 2005

Drawing from its own lessons learned, HP plans to help customers deal with “real world” factors - ranging from liquids to forklifts and conveyor belts - that can impact deployment in various ways.

Much needed. Claire and colleagues’ experience of a paint factory was not pretty.

Nice

That’ll be me then. (Or more accurately, that’ll be what I’d like to be then… A little more cash would help).

Dirty protest

Posted at 10:57am on Monday, January 17th, 2005

Police in Germany are hunting pranksters who have been sticking miniature US flags into piles of dog poo in public parks.

Doug suggests that they should look at google - that would tell them pretty quickly.

Busy busy

Posted at 11:54am on Thursday, January 13th, 2005

Hmm. No more offmessage until Monday. I’m in the middle of a very hairy arsed project at the moment which involves moving my current employer’s SAP system from one data centre to another. I expect to be stressed and without sleep from now until Sunday. Wish me luck.
