Is this a good idea?
Posted at 8:17am on Wednesday, December 1st, 2004Lycos announces a screen saver that leeches bandwidth from the web sites selling spam goods, with the intention of finally inflicting a real cost to the spammers. Not sure adding additional traffic to the Internet is the best approach - nor do I think it’ll take long for spammers to get around this pretty simple attack. But hey. It’s doubtless doing wonders for Lycos’ PR engine
