There is nothing wrong in this whole wide world

Posted at 10:19am on Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

Artist Chris Cobb has reordered the books in an entire shop according simply to the colour of the spine… One very bored and wet weekend I tried this with my own books (along with size the following weekend - nothing like a compulsive sorting disorder, huh?)… Didn’t have quite the same effect as doing it to an entire bookshop though.

Pulse

Posted at 9:03am on Tuesday, November 16th, 2004

Thanks to monoman for pointing me at ebay’s new service - pulse.ebay.com where you can find a snapshot of the highest priced, most watched, most popular items from each and all categories… And how else would I have found this:

You are bidding on a box of objects that when used/combined/altered in the right way may either open a wormhole or create access to a parallel universe for the purposes of time travel. The objects have not been tested and there is no reason for me to believe they may do as I claim they possibly might as I have no experience with time travel nor do I know what will be placed in the box at this point.

Places I’ve been

Posted at 8:28am on Tuesday, November 16th, 2004

This is a rather neat idea (thanks again to Martin for pointing it out - it’s a little more savoury than your last link!)… A map of all the places I’ve been… Make your own here.

Savour my salty explosion

Posted at 12:59pm on Monday, November 15th, 2004

Everyone’s got a story about their Chemistry teacher throwing a small piece of Sodium into a bowl of water… The resulting bang is the sort of thing that gets teenage boys exciting about the subject. Sodium Party takes it to its logical extreme… Take one lake, 3.5 pounds of Sodium (purchased off Ebay!) and….

There are loads of videos on the site, but it’s fairly slow. If you can’t be arsed watching them all at least watch this one. It’s very good.
