Lesson learned number 4,137

Posted at 12:12pm on Friday, October 15th, 2004

When selling stuff on ebay always, always get a certificate of postage. They’re free, and then you might actually have a tiny chance of getting your money back when the stuff you send doesn’t turn up… Arse.

They’ve updated it, and it’s a lot harder - play Abba to Zappa 2 and get really cross!

Apparently it’s going to be a cold winter (at least according to metcheck.com). The Met Office aren’t so sure though…

When asked what the Met Office forecast could be for winter, [Mr Woollartt] said: “We expect temperatures to drop in winter”.

Who else thinks Honda as really taken a quality turn in advertising? In the same way that Guinness, Tango and Orange really created something special with their advertising it looks like Honda are aiming for similar heights. The latest effort (Sing the Hate Song) is supported by a rather nifty little game. That and the 3 Jellyfish ad and I’m looking forward to commercial breaks again….

After a while of keeping offmessage relatively unpolitical I find the impending US election feeding my ire as only an election can. For those who can vote in this election and have decided to vote Bush this will make no difference - for everyone else its contents are self evident. Depressing reading.

What a good way to start the week - waste Monday morning by wasting asteroids as they plummet towards your base.

Super Ape

Posted at 10:46am on Sunday, October 10th, 2004

You may be thinking that the title of this post is related to Lee Perry’s seminal dub album Super Ape, but I’m afraid you’d be wrong. Oh no. Instead I’d like to bring to your attention the following from BBC News this morning:

Scientists believe they have discovered a new group of giant apes in the jungles of central Africa. The animals, with characteristics of both gorillas and chimpanzees, have been sighted in the north of the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to local villagers, the apes are ferocious, and even capable of killing lions.

Lion killing 6′6″ super apes! Yowzer.

So definitely not one of these then… (weirdly, anyone else watching Poker on the TV at the moment may see a little of Phil Hellmuth in these…)
