More on ID cards

Posted at 12:08pm on Monday, April 26th, 2004 by

I’m afraid I may start to get boring about this, but bear with me… If you’re a UK citizen this directly affects you… [Thanks Doug for this one:]

“Of the 25 countries that have been most adversely affected by
terrorism since 1986, eighty per cent have national identity cards, one
third of which incorporate biometrics. This research was unable to
uncover any instance where the presence of an identity card system in
those countries was seen as a significant deterrent to terrorist
activity.”

‘I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day’

Posted at 11:37am on Monday, April 26th, 2004 by

From Here to Modernity

Posted at 11:21am on Monday, April 26th, 2004 by

Dunno if you saw it, but a couple of years back there was a fascinating series about modern architecture with Kirsty Wark… Personally I have a bit of a thing for the Trellick Tower – the only building I’ve ever seen that looks like a submachine gun – so it’s good to have finally found the website that goes with the series. Definitely worth a read.

Ban those pants

Posted at 4:04pm on Saturday, April 24th, 2004 by

Louisiana residents are apparently so sick of being able to see the string of girl’s thongs under their low slung jeans they’re planning on introducing a law to ban low-riding trousers. Some people really do look gift horses in the mouth, don’t they?

(This brings to mind the first ever post on this site…)

Two games, equally requiring more than a little concentration… Gene Sequencer and Floats. I dare you to do some work this afternoon.
