Stark reminder

Posted at 11:14am on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004

Fascinating if slightly horrifying reading…

We invite you to experience the unfiltered story of American eugenics. In the Archive you will see numerous reports, articles, charts, and pedigrees that were considered scientific “facts” in their day. It is important to remind yourself that the vast majority of eugenics work has been completely discredited. In the final analysis, the eugenic description of human life reflected political and social prejudices, rather than scientific facts.

An exquisite corpse

Posted at 11:07pm on Monday, March 22nd, 2004

I’ve been beavering away on a couple of new projects recently, both based around the comedy factor in surreal text. One of them is finally ready to go… Please go and have a crack at my version of the old party favourite - consequences (or if you’re being fancy, Exquisite Corpse)
Paul, this one’s for you!

Posted at 3:24pm on Sunday, March 21st, 2004

I post links to stuff that Manic over at Bloggerheads is up to so frequently that I guess most people reading this will have read that as well.. Just in case you haven’t, can I draw your attention to some new posters he’s made… My particular favourite - One down, one and a halfwit to go. Sheer class.

There’s a certain sick pleasure in this

Posted at 3:03pm on Sunday, March 21st, 2004

Following the discovery that Dasani (Coke’s bottled water) was in fact just purified tap water it’s good to now discover that pretty much the only thing that Coke managed to do to in the ‘purification’ process was to add bromate (a cancer causing chemical), meaning that the product has had to be pulled from all UK shelves.

Seriously - how do you manage a PR fuck up like that? Well done, whoever you are!

Radio Vox Populi

Posted at 2:01pm on Sunday, March 21st, 2004

Hmm. Blogging is frequently thought of by non-bloggers as some form of self-important attention grabbing nonsense. For someone to turn the personal ramblings of over 1,000 blogs into a radio station and to broadcast it 24×7 is sure to strengthen the difference of opinion between the blogs and the blog-nots even more. Having said all of that it is weirdly compelling listening (although it can be choppy here in the UK).
