Pepsi – how low can you go?

A story from USA Today last Friday about Pepsi using one of the RIAA’s victims in their SuperBowl ad is getting an awful lot of links at the moment. Pepsi are using Annie Leith (who settled with the RIAA out of court for $3,000 rather than go to court and possibly lose) in an ad to promote a joint Apple/Pepsi iTunes giveaway…

As P2Pnet are saying surely this is completely arse about face..? iTunes, an RIAA approved source of broken music files, is using someone who has broken the RIAA’s rules to sell its product with a sly tip and a wink to the knowing audience. The contradictions and hypocrisy just keep getting more amusing. Oh to be hip, fresh and challenging while still trying to sue your customers… It can’t last.
