Hung drawn and quartered?

As I’ve mentioned before I am contracted to EMI so, rather obviously, stories in the news about EMI and particularly its finances get my attention. Ever since I’ve worked there there’s always been some merger or takeover on the cards, but it looks like the current one (where they buy Warner Music from Time Warner) might actually be a goer… Interestingly this graph:

Shows that if EMI and Warner get together at the same time as Sony and BMG we’ll end up with an almost exact 25/25/25/25 split between the 3 majors and the rest. Healthy? Not sure, but at least three quarters of that chart will be solely focussed on music for the first time in a long while.
