(Also, following from previous lottery posts… The odds of matching 5 numbers are 1 in 55,492 (which this week was worth a measly ï¿½1,143). The odds of being killed by lightning at any time in your life is 1 in 71,601. I wouldn’t bet a pound a week on that, would you?)
All hail the power of the google cache… Enabled my vanity to recover at least some of the entries from the last 6 weeks. And yes – I do understand how sad that makes me!

The new version of Windows (expected around 2006) was previewed at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference yesterday… Nothing too exciting, although I did like this snippet from the BBC report of the same story:
One of the key features of the new desktop is a smart panel that sits at the side of the screen and can be configured to hold essential information such as instant messenger buddy lists, time, links to favourite websites as well as news and stock tickers.
That sure is a new definition of “essential”…
