BBC to open archive to all

Greg Dyke has announced that he intends to open the BBC archive to the public for download.

“I believe that we are about to move into a second phase of the digital revolution, a phase which will be more about public than private value; about free, not pay services; about inclusivity, not exclusion.”

If they really deliver it will be amazing… I mean – access to every BBC programme. It will change the way we view the TV – and it will certainly stick in the craw of Tony Ball (Chief Exec of BSkyB)…
