And Sun?
Posted at 4:20am on Tuesday, June 24th, 2003More depressing reading. I’ve worked with Sun for years. Solaris is the only recognisable OS from the days when I started in IT, and it still rocks. I still drink tea out of a Sun mug. I still proudly wear my Sun T-Shirts…
…But I don’t buy Sun kit any more. In the late 90s I spent (or, more accurately, my customers spent) millions of pounds on Sun kit. This year alone I’ve swapped out over £500k of Sun kit to replace it with HP/Compaq running Linux.
I have a feeling I’m not alone.
